I am a Toronto-based strategy consultant and marketer who writes about life in Canada and Korean culture.
I began my career as a professional in business advisory services, helping global corporations increase their profitability and develop new revenue streams. I spent a decade in consulting being actively involved in and leading client-facing engagements and working closely with C-suite executives, venture capitalists, and investors, helping them make informed business decisions, generate qualified leads, and grow their businesses.
Then, in 2018, I switched geographies, industries, and roles and became a “tripple jumper.” I am a rare success story of switching career paths while settling in a new country.
I am passionate about telling compelling stories and delivering engaging content that converts prospects to buyers and eventually, brand evangelists. My ‘claim to fame’ was one article that went viral on some large Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The most notable outcome was that it presented me with the opportunity to pursue what I love most by taking on the Content Manager role with Arrive at RBCx Ventures.
After three enriching years working at RBC in the business-to-consumer (B2C) space, I joined the Ascend team to gain exposure to the business-to-business (B2B) side of content. My collective experience in B2B and B2C content marketing has equipped me to help businesses solve growth challenges.
Today, I’m back wearing my management consulting / analyst hat and solving business problems at Sun Life. Overall, my past experience as a consultant coupled with my marketing skills and expertise from recent years uniquely positions me to support and deliver on strategic business objectives while planning, executing, and driving growth initiatives.
Outside of work, you’ll find me cooking traditional family recipes, shopping for stocks, watching K-dramas and re-runs of classic sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond and F.R.I.E.N.D.S., listening to K-pop, or exploring Toronto neighbourhoods. I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift and K-pop boybands — BTS and EXO. Occasionally, when the stars align themselves, I love travelling to foreign lands and exploring new places.
I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi, and have a basic understanding of Korean.
